The Top 4 Reasons to Set Goals

Goal setting is important for productivity and performance. When we set a goal, we are required to think about what we really want. Usually we archive that somehow. Then, we plan how we will do it. As we go, we accomplish small parts of it and gain confidence to continue.  Goals allow us to prioritize, they guide our focus, they are rewarding, and they perpetuate success.

1. Helps Prioritize:

When we know we are going to make a goal for ourselves, we are forced to think about what is most important to us. This can help us make crucial decisions, therefore we get closer to achieving what we want to. 

2. Guides focus:

Once a target is set, in all likelihood our focus is on achieving that. Without a focus, we are more easily distracted. 

3. Rewards:

When we check things off our list, we feel a sense of accomplishment. This can help us feel fulfilled and gain confidence, which makes us more motivated to continue. 

4. Perpetuates Success:

The confidence we gain from reaching one goal can lead to more goal setting and continued  momentum towards success. This helps with ability to make real changes in our lives.
