Pat graduated with Highest Honors from OT school at the University of Florida having previously received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in English from UF.
She began working at the Hand Rehabilitation Center of Gainesville, and after the 5 years of licensure required at the time, took the national examination and qualified to be a CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) in 1993. After 11 years of working in the private practice setting she began working at North Florida Regional Medical Center as an in-patient OT and an out-patient hand therapist. During that time she earned Gold Star Northstar status and was awarded the Frist Award as employee of the year. When the hospital’s out patient therapy department closed she came to ReQuest which is affiliated with NFRMC. She continued working PRN for the hospital fabricating splints and providing hand therapy to in-patients until her retirement from NFRMC in 2019. In 2008 she competed a certificate program offered by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and added the treatment of upper extremity lymphedema to her practice.
She enjoys educating her patients and empowering them to take control of their recovery. She feels that she and her patients are a team moving toward improved functional independence. When she is out of the office she enjoys interacting with her grown children, photography, gardening and her pets. She also enjoys reading as well as theatre and music.
