Diana joined Request Physical Therapy in February of 2019. She received her education at Florida School of Massage where she is grateful to have received the tool of massage therapy to accompany her desire to help those around her heal. Although patients might describe her work as “deep tissue”, mindfulness and compassionate intention guide every single session. Through her time practicing massage therapy, she has specialized in Connective Tissue and Deep Tissue massage. Through her years of practice, she has learned that deep work is only effective alongside the genuine presence and intention to engage the whole person into deep levels of relaxation.
Aside from happily working to help patients at Request heal from injuries, Diana spends much of her time practicing and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She began her transformative BJJ journey at Marcelo Garcia Jiu-Jitsu Academy of Gainesville where she now has the privilege of co-leading the children’s program (4-13), teaching co-ed classes, and continuing her own martial arts development.
Diana believes her love for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fuels her passion to be a skilled and knowledgeable massage therapist. Having dealt with sports injuries of her own during her BJJ journey, she is passionate about helping athletes and people in her community keep doing what brings them joy. She strives to meet her patients exactly where they are in their process in order to begin authentic, lasting healing and reach their goals.
With the bits of time left after massage therapy and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Diana pours her passion into reading, dancing salsa, cooking, exploring holistic healing arts and herbalism. Diana believes strongly in the power of whole foods and movement as preventative medicine.
